Obama and McCain’s Ad-Words

Being bored today and a slow news day for SEO, I decided to google both “Obama and McCain for president”. I figured I would see the official campaign sites as the top result, but what I did think was interesting was the top Sponsored Link.

Googling Obama for president this is what was returned:

Now you see the Obama campaign is on the ball and they have their Ad-Words campaign set-up properly and I am shown a link to the official Obama Site.

Now lets take a look at what googling mccain for president returns for us:

I thought this was super interesting, the Sponsor Link is actually pointing to a non-official McCain site while the first natural result is McCain’s site. So either McCain’s team is not too google savy or maybe they just don’t care. I’m thinking with the right Ad-Words Budget I can weasel my way into the top and do some things.
