What should I be reading?

Good Morning,

Yesterday was interesting. Here at work we had a seminar by Ann Wylie of revupreadership.com that talked about micro-content and writing for the web. Now I would have to say as both the Author of this site and a “Real” Professional web guy for my daily 9-5 gig, the majority of her stuff was on target. What would seem to be common sense to me she was basically selling as secrets. She did mention that you should write your content for human readers, which I agree with whole-heartly but then in the same breath she mentioned SEO as being “cheating” and that “Google looks at seo as cheating and they have a whole building on their campus filled with engineers that do nothing but create ‘logarithms’ to defeat SEO.” Now my blood was boiling and my head damn near exploded but I kept my cool and really didn’t say anything about what she had just said. After all my boss was in the room and he had just paid thousands of dollars for this seminar and I didn’t want to rain on his parade or budget.   My professional opinion Ms. Ann Wylie you know squat about SEO, and shouldn’t comment on the art.  Now with that out of the way, onto the real meat and potatoes of this post.   Who should you listen to about SEO, what books should you be reading and what sites should you be visiting?  Well the list below will continue to grow but here are a few of the places that I visit:

Compete.com | both for the tools and the blog
ysmblog.com
adwords.blogspot.com
emarketer.com
clickz.com
hitwise.com
hitbox.com | omniture tools

Of course there are other sites but these I pretty much go to daily without question.
Do you have a book or site you think should be on the list? Drop a line and let us know.
